These terms outline the conditions for clients engaging our companionship and lifestyle assistance services. By booking and using our services, you agree to the following terms. Please review these terms periodically, as they are part of our booking agreement and may be updated as needed.
Scope of Services
Home Companions™ provides non-medical companionship and lifestyle assistance services exclusively. Our services are designed to foster meaningful social engagement and light support but do not include personal care, medical assistance, or regulated health or homecare services.

Independent Contractor Status
All Home Companions™ companions operate as independent contractors. They are not employees of Home Companions™, which means they manage their own schedules, set their service approach, and handle client interactions independently.
As independent contractors, companions are responsible for maintaining service quality and for complying with any laws relevant to their services. Home Companions™ facilitates connections but does not supervise or control the companions’ activities or interactions.
Payments and Compensation
For administrative ease, Home Companions™ facilitates payments from clients to contractors. However, companions retain control over their service provision and are individually responsible for the quality of service.
All service fees and any applicable surcharges are specified at the time of booking. Clients agree to adhere to the agreed-upon rates and payment terms. Payment must be completed before services commence as per the invoice or payment link provided.
Client Responsibility and Engagement
Clients engage with Home Companions™ services at their own discretion. Home Companions™ acts solely as a facilitator, connecting clients with independent companions. While we take measures to ensure reliable connections, Home Companions™ assumes no liability for the actions or omissions of companions.
Should a client experience any concerns with their engagement, they are encouraged to contact Home Companions™ directly. We aim to address issues promptly and support positive outcomes in all engagements.
Content and Communication Guidelines
Clients are expected to communicate with companions respectfully and abide by mutually agreed-upon boundaries. Home Companions™ reserves the right to address any inappropriate conduct that could impact the quality of the companionship experience.
Client feedback on services is welcome and may be shared with Home Companions™ through designated channels. We do not assume responsibility for content or messages posted directly by clients, companions, or third parties.
Liability and Disclaimers
Home Companions™ offers companionship and lifestyle support as non-medical services, strictly avoiding any form of personal care, medical services, or regulated health support. By engaging our services, clients acknowledge and agree that these services are provided outside the purview of healthcare or government-regulated programs.
Home Companions™ is not liable for any incidents or issues arising from companions’ independent actions. Clients are encouraged to choose services suited to their needs and acknowledge the limitations outlined here.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change unexpectedly. To provide flexibility while ensuring availability for all clients, we offer a tiered cancellation policy based on notice provided. Please review the cancellation terms below to avoid unnecessary fees and help us manage scheduling effectively.
No Charge: Cancel at least 48 hours before your scheduled visit to avoid any fees.
25% Fee: Cancellations made between 24 and 48 hours before the scheduled visit will incur a 25% charge.
50% Fee: Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled visit will incur a 50% charge.
Refunds, where applicable, will be processed within [number of days]. For any questions or support regarding refunds or cancellations, please contact our support team directly.
Refund Policy
Refunds are generally only provided if Home Companions cancels a booking. However, refunds may also be issued under the following circumstances:
Service Quality Complaint: If a client is dissatisfied with the quality of the service and submits a poor rating or complaint within 24 hours of the service, Home Companions may issue a partial or full refund, at our discretion.
Companion Unavailability: If a Companion becomes unavailable at short notice (due to illness or emergency) and we cannot arrange an alternative, clients will receive a full refund.
Incorrect Charges: If an error in billing results in an overcharge, the client will be refunded the amount of the overcharge.
Refunds, where applicable, will be processed within 7 days. For any questions or assistance regarding refunds, please contact our support team.
Privacy and Data Use
Home Companions™ is committed to protecting client privacy. Personal information collected during the booking process is used solely for service facilitation and internal purposes, as detailed in our Privacy Policy.
Emergency Protocol
Companions are not equipped or responsible for handling medical emergencies. In case of an emergency, companions will contact emergency services on behalf of the client but cannot provide direct medical or emergency assistance.
Indemnification
By using our services, clients agree to indemnify and hold Home Companions™ harmless from any claims, losses, or damages arising from their engagement with independent contractors, including but not limited to any actions or omissions by the contractors.
Non-Solicitation of Contractors
Clients agree not to directly solicit or employ contractors outside of Home Companions™’ facilitation during or following the service period. This ensures the integrity of our network and helps us maintain service quality.
Updates to Client Service Terms
Home Companions™ reserves the right to update or modify these Client Service Terms periodically. By booking and continuing to use our services, clients acknowledge and accept the most current version of these terms as part of their ongoing agreement with Home Companions™. It is the client’s responsibility to review these terms regularly to stay informed.
General Acknowledgment
By engaging with Home Companions™ services, clients agree to abide by these terms, understanding the independent contractor model, non-medical service scope, and limited liability of Home Companions™ as a facilitator. These terms are binding and form an integral part of the booking agreement.
