A Transparent Guide to Our Services

At Home Companions™, we value transparency and believe in setting clear expectations right from the start. This guide is designed to help you understand the scope of services we offer and the areas we do not cover. Our aim is to provide high-quality, reliable care within our expertise, ensuring your comfort and safety at all times. Below, you’ll find a detailed list of tasks we are happy to assist with, along with those that fall outside of our service offerings.

Outside Our Scope

  • Personal Care:

    • Our focus is on companionship rather than personal care, so tasks like showering, bathing, grooming, and toilet assistance are outside our scope.

    • We offer companionship for those with varying abilities but do not have the training for profound physical or mental disability care.

  • Household Support:

    • We leave heavy lifting, moving furniture, gardening, window cleaning and deep cleaning to professional services.

  • Food-Related:

    • We can only prepare simple meals. We’re not chefs or dieticians, and we don’t cater to gourmet meals or medical diets, as we're not a regulated care service.

  • Outings & Transportation:

    • Due to insurance policies, companions do not use personal vehicles for client transportation. Clients cover costs for meals, parking, or other outing-related expenses.

  • Health & Medical Care:

    • We are not licensed to administer medications, medical treatments, or assist with medical devices, but we ensure timely help by contacting professionals if needed.

  • Emergency Situations:

    • In emergencies, we promptly contact emergency services and offer basic first aid until help arrives.
